Rumor mills say that Kante is up for sale by Chelsea in order to fund Kai Havertz transfer from Bayer Leverkusen following their spending spree which saw them buy Hakim Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.
If there is any truth to this rumor, Manchester United should be knocking on Chelsea’s door to negotiate a deal to bring Kante to Old Trafford. He is the player that would transform United from their current status of a team challenging for the top 4 to a team that can genuinely challenge for titles. He could be the glue that holds together the united midfield and would help the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba to assert their influence on the game. Imagine Pogba and Bruno pulling the strings in the midfield with the assurance of someone like Kante behind them, it could be one of the best midfield partnership that United have had in a long long time.
Kante and Pogba have already formed a devastating partnership at the international level with France. If they can translate a similar sort of partnership at the club level along with Bruno Fernandes, it would be a devastating trio. People are talking about the partnership between Bruno and Pogba being the dream duo. Imagine adding the grit and assurance of Kante to that midfield. It would instantly turn the united midfield into one of the strongest midfield in the world which would be the envy of many clubs.
So if I were Ed Woodward I would be knocking at Chelsea’s door if there is even a slightest of chance that Kante can be bought to Old Trafford. This is the sort of transfer that could change United’s fortunes.
